The Dusenbery 735AM and
FAM series slitter rewinders, designed and built by Aldus
in Sydney, have proven to be very popular with
installations around Australia, New Zealand, Asia and
South Africa.
The latest machine in
this series has recently been completed and is destined
for an undisclosed client and features a new design
shaftless self loading unwind stand, eliminating all
manual lifting at the unwind position. This unwind, like
the shafted version, can be positioned at the front or
rear of the machine, depending upon the clients
preference.
This particular machine
also features laser core positioning for quick and easy
core setting at the rewind and the new Tidland D4 air
differential shafts. The innovative laser core positioning
system can be programmed for a variety of slit width
recipe’s and after each setup the laser returns and checks
each core position just in case one has moved
inadvertently.
Automatic unwind tension
control is via a MAGPOWR closed loop load cell system and
a Fife CDP-01 automatic web guide is fitted as standard.
The drive system utilises
two AC motors and operator controls and touch screen are
conveniently located in an ergonomic swinging pendant at
the rewind position.
Slitting can be kiss
shear utilising Tidland Class 1 pneumatic knives or razor
slitting or both, all of which are designed for quick and
tool less set up. Shear slitting requires no female knife
spacers hence initial cost and set up times are reduced.
