The recent
installation of a new 8 colour Mark Andy model XP5000 flexo
press at the Wyong, NSW plant of Pacific Labels brings their
total number of Mark Andy presses to 5 and gives a massive boost
to their production capabilities.
This latest
machine joins 4 other Mark Andy model 2200 presses in their
modern Central Coast plant.

This XP5000, the
1st 8 colour XP delivered into Australia, is a servo driven
press utilizing the latest in servo drive and registration
control technology at the printing and die cutting stations,
together with servo drives at the unwind & rewind. Internet
capable diagnostics, another standard feature, will ensure full
service access 24/7.
The Pre-register,
Re-register and VariPrint features are just 3 of the many
standard functions available to the operator to allow optimum
productivity at the highest speeds with minimal waste at any job
change. The XP5000 is designed to print on substrates from 25um
BOPP up to 350um.
Pacific Labels
also had the press fitted with GEW eBrick water chilled UV
drying system, Enercon corona treater, Teknek double sided web
cleaner and Harper Platinum XLT ceramic anilox rolls from Aldus
to ensure their clients received the highest quality product.
Other special label processes included will also allow the
manufacture of specialized multi layer labels plus various items
to allow rapid job change.
David Watts,
Pacific Labels President, made the comments that this new press
will enhance their capabilities due to its automatic
registration, wider web width and much higher operating speeds
and he decided to purchase this machine after he saw a similar
machine recently installed at their associate company, Topflight
USA, plant.
