Printex 07, held
recently at Darling Harbour in Sydney, certainly
surpassed the 2003 show results and also our 2007
expectations.
3 days of sunshine and
a diverse range of equipment on display attracted
visitors from all Australian states, New Zealand and
several Asian & Pacific nations.
All of the machinery
displayed on the Aldus stands were continually running
demonstrations for the 3 days and the response from
existing and new clients alike was extremely positive
with 2 major sales being confirmed during the show plus
numerous new enquiries requiring follow up after the
show.
Undoubtedly the machine
that attracted most attention was the Mark Andy 2200 8
colour flexo press and “Gizmo” that was producing a
double layer pressure sensitive label allowing clients
to print on 3 times the area of a conventional label.
This new product allows clients to incorporate a
tremendous amount of product information on one label
plus special promotions, games or additional advertising
of similar products, in fact the possibilities are
endless. Utilising various combinations of die cutting,
slitting and perforating the sizes and shapes of labels
are infinitely variable. As one client stated “…….the
sales and marketing people are going to go berserk with
this……”
The first Gizmo was
installed the week after Printex on a Mark Andy press at
a major Sydney printer and was producing labels for a
client within a day.
The Mark Andy 2200
press exhibited at Printex was sold to a Melbourne
client together with a JM Heaford ELS plate mounter and
MicroClean 16A anilox roll cleaning system. Another
Heaford ELS plate mounter was also sold during the show
to a Melbourne client, with a 3rd being
confirmed immediately after the show closed for a Sydney
client.
The new JM Heaford
plate mounter’s now feature through camera laser beams
to further improve accuracy and speed of set up.
The latest Dusenbery
735FAM attracted its fair share of attention especially
the laser core positioning system with self checking
feature, this can be retrofitted to almost any machine
with cantilevered rewind mandrels and is simple to set
up only using the operators touch screen.
